Frequently Asked Questions:
1. Does my General Adult ticket allow me to go on Saturday or Sunday?
You can visit the gardens on Saturday or Sunday or split them and do a little each day. You choose! Please not that there is a one-time admission to each garden.
Please be advised that we experience the biggest numbers of tour guests Saturday morning. Stay as little or as long as you wish in each garden.
Gardens are open from 10am to 5 pm. Please note this exception: the garden of Little and Lewis closes each day at 3pm.
2. Will there be food on the tour?
Coffee/tea/light snacks available at the Olsen garden. A-la-carte luncheon choices will be available at Stanley & Moyemont garden. Ice cream will be served at the Bullivant garden. Bottled water will be available at the Treherne/Michel garden. For price range and descriptions, please click here.
3. How should I dress?
This is a rain-or-shine event. Please dress weather appropriate and wear comfortable walking shoes. We suggest fanny packs/backpacks in lieu of heavy purses.
4. How do I get more information about the plants I see on the tour?
Master Gardeners will be on-site to answer plant questions. Garden docents will also be in each garden to offer assistance. Along the tour, an optional stop will be made at Bainbridge Gardens, which is a retail garden center and nursery.
5. Where do I park? Can I drive to the gardens?
There is no driving to any of the gardens on the weekend (shuttle service is provided by Kitsap Transit). You can park your car in the many designated areas surrounding the "Bus Hub." 6. What are the shuttle schedules?
Kitsap Transit provides free transportation throughout the weekend on a streamlined route, using the largest and most luxurious vehicles in their fleet. No personal vehicles are allowed at the gardens on Saturday and Sunday.
Kitsap Transit will be at the Bainbridge Ferry Terminal to meet the ferries departing Seattle 8:45-12:20pm. Service is provided between the ferry terminal and the bus hub, with drop-offs along Winslow Way on all return trips to the ferry terminal. Final departure from hub is 5:30 pm.
Wing Point gardens: there is a short, paved walk (500 steps) to Treherne/Michel garden. A shuttle car will be available for those needing assistance.
A dedicated Kitsap Transit bus going to Driggs and Little & Lewis garden will leave the hub throughout the day. The bus will return to the hub where you will get on other bus to continue the garden tour. Dedicated bus will be identified.
PLEASE NOTE: Little & Lewis garden closes promptly each day at 3 pm so please plan accordingly.
7. Can I bring my pet?
For everyone’s safety and comfort, please leave pets at home.
8. What are the restroom facilities?
Port-a-potties are available in each garden and at the bus hub.
9. How much are the tickets for children under 6 years?
Children under age 12 are $10 per child.
10. Where can I get tickets? How do I get my tickets purchased online?
After purchasing a garden tour ticket, you will be sent a brochure, which serves as a ticket voucher. Please show brochure upon boarding Kitsap Transit bus to receive your special Garden Tour Program. Please present program at each garden for a one-time admission on either day.
Tickets can be purchased on-line, over-the-phone, mail, or in area outlets Outlet sales will begin Memorial weekend. Click Herefor listing of area outlets.
Tickets can also be purchased the weekend of the garden tour at the Bloom booth that will be located at the bus hub.
Tickets purchased after July 3 will go to will-call status and can be picked-up at the Bloom booth at the bus hub.
